Do water features work year-round on Long Island or do they need to be shut down in winter?
On Long Island, most ponds and waterfalls are winterized before freezing temperatures set in. Our landscape designer will properly shut down, protect pumps and plumbing, and prepare your feature so it's ready to restart in spring. Some pondless waterfalls can run longer into colder months, depending on setup.
What's the difference between a pond and a pondless water feature and which is better for my backyard?

Will a backyard pond attract mosquitoes?
No! Ponds from our landscape designer come with moving water, filtration, and beneficial bacteria that actually discourage mosquitoes. Stagnant water attracts them; a professionally installed ecosystem pond does not.

We use low-voltage, energy-efficient fixtures designed to withstand coastal Long Island weather, with minimal maintenance required beyond occasional adjustments and bulb replacements. Depending on the LED lighting systems, there are various systems that have an expected lifespan. The more affordable systems have LED bulbs that must be replaced periodically. Higher-end lighting systems are manufactured with bulbs that are built into the light fixture, which do not get changed
